Pioneer Materials believes in finding the best possible ways to serve customers, which also includes being mindful of the environment. Though it may not be common knowledge, concrete is one of the most natural and environmentally-friendly building materials in existence. It is almost entirely made of natural resources found in the earth’s surface. Limestone, the predominant component of cement, is recovered from very shallow mines. This means less energy to acquire it and less impact on the earth’s surface.

Pioneer Materials is also leading the way in promoting the most environmentally-friendly concrete products, such as pervious concrete, which allows for water drainage through the pours of the concrete and into the ground.

As an industry leader in its recycling efforts, Pioneer has initiated a recycling program that provides an economically friendly subbase and keeps the environment clean of old concrete, bricks, blocks, and asphalt that would be disposed of in already saturated landfills. With recycling centers in both Dover and Delmar, contractors, homeowners, public works and federal agencies can properly dispose of their recyclable materials.
